JAPAN-50 YEN

The Japanese yen ( or  en?, symbol: ¥; code: JPY) is the official currency of Japan. It is the third most traded currency in the foreign exchange market after the United States dollar and the euro. It is also widely used as a reserve currency after the U.S. dollar, the euro, and the pound sterling.
Coins were introduced in 1870. There were silver 5, 10, 20 and 50 sen and 1 yen, and gold 2, 5, 10 and 20 yen. Gold 1 yen were introduced in 1871, followed by copper 1 rin, ½, 1 and 2 sen in 1873.
Cupronickel 5 sen coins were introduced in 1889. In 1897, the silver 1 yen coin was demonetized and the sizes of the gold coins were reduced by 50%, with 5, 10 and 20 yen coins issued. In 1920, cupro-nickel 10 sen coins were introduced.
The 50 yen coin (五十円硬貨 Gojū-en kōka?) is a denomination of Japanese yen. The current design was first minted in 1967
History
The first 50 yen coin was issued in 1955 and featured a chrysanthemum viewed from the side on the reverse and a stylized ancient weight on the obverse. The coin had a diameter of 25 mm, and was 100% nickel.
In 1959, the design was modified, adding a hole in the center due to complaints that the design was confusing with the 100 yen coin, and changing the reverse side to show a chrysanthemum viewed from above. The metallurgy remained unchanged. This design was issued every year from 1959 to 1966.
The current design for the 50 Yen coin was first issued in 1967. The metallurgy was changed a ratio of 75-25 copper-nickel, with the diameter of the coin reduced to 21 mm, and the weight reduced from 5.0 grams to 4.0 grams. The size of the center hole was reduced from 6 mm in diameter to 4 mm. The reverse side retained the use of a chrysanthemum motif, showing three smaller flowers flanking the center hole.
This copper - nickel coin is of 4 gram and diameter 21 mm with thickness 1.7 mm. The coin is of Showa era (1926-1989) Japan and the head of the state was Hirohito van Japan(1926-1989).one side shows the denomination 50 yen with Japanese lettering and the other side shows the flower Chrysanthemum with Japanese lettering.This coin was minted in year 42 of Showa calender that is 1982 of current calender system. This series of coin was first issued in 1967 with about 238,400,000 coins and lastly in 1988 with about 108,912,000 coins.This coin was minted in 1982 with about 30,000,000 coins.
About 3,258,517,000 were minted so far and the peak value of this coin is $ 14.
